Shihada is the Testimony of faith.
Before any being reverts or converts to Islam, they must testify that.
"There is none worthy of worship except God and Muhammad is the messenger of God."
This declaration of faith is called the Shahadah, a simple formula that all the faithful pronounce. The significance of this declaration is to belief that There is no god but One God (monotheism)and to confirm that Mohammad(pbuh) was a prophet.
Like all the prophets mentioned in the Quran.
Prophets are messengers sent to guide mankind.
When the Shihada/Testimony
is said it must be said with full conviction, full acknowledgment and full acceptance of its words.
Islam requires the individual to fully belief with our a doubt, that there is nothing worthy of worship, accept God/Allah, and must fully accept that Mohammad (pbuh) was only a messenger from God/Allah.

The first part of the Shihada of Islam, is in line 100% with the first commandment given to Moses (pbuh) to the Jews, as well used in the Bible for Christians.
